Bio

Joel Chase Manary is a 25 year old musician, filmmaker, and graduate of CSU San Marcos. With a BA in Mass Media, he has found interest in all types of media from web design to radio to video editing. He has been the lead singer in a hard rock band called Approaching Fiction since 2008, playing shows all over California and recording dozens of songs since they got their start. They recently released their debut album called “THELEVENTHOUR” with Pacific Records. Music has always been a passion for Joel but when it comes to a career, he is looking for a chance to get into the media industry. In 2011 he made a short film about his adopted brother Josh and learned what goes into making a finished video project. The film was called “Unlikely Brothers” and it was awarded “Best Documentary” at the CSUSM Film Festival. After graduating Joel worked with a few small production companies including “One Productions”, Simple Business Video Marketing”, and “Neon Vision Entertainment.” He co-produced an online video series called “Feel the Bass” which highlighted local music producers, concerts, and festivals.
